This hole saw significant damage in the 2008 ice storm. A minor redesign was in the works, but with the damage to the island of trees, it may turn out to be a major redesign.

In 2008, a safe drive would be on the left side of the fairway - but not too far left. While the entire right side of the fairway is lined with out of bounds, putting your drive too far left leaves a dangerous approach. A safe drive leaves a fairly easy up and down to assure the three.
