Note: Only events with dates filled in are confirmed.

To be eligible to earn a spot at a qualifier, you must inform the tournament director that you want to compete for one of the Vibram Open spots before the final round begins. If you are competing for a Vibram Open spot, your score port card should have a Vibram Open designation on it.

If you qualify for the Vibram Open, you will have 30 days to complete your registration. If your qualifier is held after July 14th, your registration must be completed by August 12th at 8:00 PM. If registration is not completed on time, the qualifier spot will be opened to general registration or the Five Spots wait list.

Five Spots
Thursday, August 12th

The top five finishers in the Five Spots qualifier tournament will earn the final five spots in the 2010 Vibram Open. There is a history of strong finishes from Five Spots players including the 2005 MSDGC Champion Kevin McCoy and fifth place finisher in the 2008 Vibram Open Paul Ulibarri. In 2009, Henry Childres kept up the Five Spots tradition, earning his way on to the lead card in the final round.

The cost to compete in the Five Spots is $20. If you earn a spot into the tournament, this $20 will be applied to your tournament entry fee.

The Five Spots registration list serves as the MPO Wait List. If a reserved spot is not taken, then these spots will be given to those at the top of the Five Spot Wait List.

Five Spots registrations are non-refundable. If you tell us you cannot make it before the Five Spots event, we will send you a Vibram Open fundraiser disc as a thank you for your support.

At 9:30 AM, the Wait List portion of the Five Spots Wait List goes away and players are seeded based on their order of finish in the Five Spots Tourney. Any additional Vibram Open spots that become available (due to a last minute no-shows) will go to the players based on their order of finish in the Five Spots Tourney.

Local Info: Where to Stay - Airports - Driving Directions

Where is Leicester, Massachusetts?
Leicester is just east of Worcester, Massachusetts. We are also about an hour east of Boston and an hour north west of Hartford. New England's two busiest airports are in Boston and Hartford so getting flights should be pretty easy and affordable.
How do I get to Leicester from the airports?
If you are renting a car, you can follow the driving directions below. There are shuttles to Worcester, but they are relatively expensive and not as reliable as your very own rental car. We may also be able to arrange a ride from the airport, let us know when you are arriving and we'll see what we can do.
Do you have driving directions to Leicester?
We have created detailed directions. We strongly recommend our map vs. mapquest or google as they get bogged down on a lot of the smaller local roads. Click here to view the directions.
What are the most convenient airports to Leicester?

Worcester Regional Airport (Direct Air) - They fly from Ft. Myers & Orlando, FL and Myrtle Beach, SC directly to Worcester. They are worth checking out if you are near these cities.

Boston's Logan Airport (AirTran, America West, American, ATA, Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Midwest, Northwest, Song, United, US Airways, Virgin Atlantic)

Providence TF Green Airport (Air Canada, Cape Air, Continental, Delta, NorthWest, SouthWest, United, US Airways)

Hartford's Bradley Intl. Airport (America West, American, Continental, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, United, US Airways)

Manchestesr Airport (Comair, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Southwest, United, US Airways)

How far is the tournament hotel from the course?
The hotel is about 8 miles (20 minutes) from Maple Hill. This is a guess.
Do I need a rental car?
It is not necessary but recommended. There is no substitute for being prepared, and all rental cars have tops that can be put up. If inclement conditions prevail, you will benefit from having appropriate gear readily available. Plus, if the weather is great, you will benefit from having a convertible readily available, and the weather is supposed to be great. Click here to check the almanac.
Where should I eat my first dinner in the area?

We would recommend that you support the Restaurant Sponsors who are helping to make this touranment bigger and better than some of us ever imagined. Although others of us knew we could pull it off, thanks to our Restaurant Sponsors.

How soon should I book a departing flight on Sunday after the Championship ends?

Why would you want to leave us? You are welcome to stay Sunday night and have a relaxed day of travel Monday. Anyway, once you've tasted our cooking, you are going to call home to have them send your favorite bowl and be done with it. Tournament play should finish by 5:00 PM. The Awards ceremony should finish by 6:00 PM. Allow 1.5 hours drive time to the airport (except Worcester airport, which is five minutes away, if you drive real slow) and at least 1 hour to check in.
